Recently voted TriCity News A-List BEST MUSIC TEACHER, Elaine is an accomplished voice, piano and guitar teacher who has been teaching for over 38 years. Apart from being a registered nurse for over 20 years, Elaine has always pursued music.  She is a soloist, a voice teacher, a classically trained pianist.

 

      Fifteen years ago, Elaine co-founded The Lindbjerg Academy - a musical theatre and performing arts school for children. Through the academy she has produced over 25+ musicals, varying in cast sizes of 10-60 people, ranging in age from 4-18 years old. Her student choirs were chosen to perform in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre with Donnie Osmond, and several years later at the Ford Centre.

 

      Elaine has not only taught music but has also performed in musical theatre for companies such as Footlight, Richmond Gateway, The Metro and Royal City.  She is also a composer and has written the music for several children's musicals.

 

     Her students continue to excel in the music field. They have won numerous awards in both local and provincial music festival, and have also appeared in musicals all over the lower mainland. Last fall one of her students was a finalist in the CBC reality TV competition, Over the Rainbow, Andrew Lloyd Webber's search for Dorothy in his production of The Wizard of Oz.
